We would like to extend our thoughts, prayers, and condolences to the family and friends of the late Rick Epstein. He was a champion of local history, a wealth of knowledge, a gifted writer, a steadfast family man and friend, and will go down in history as a true local legend.

We deeply appreciate his participation, support, and the unwavering ready-to-help attitude he has always brought to the society, and will dearly miss seeing him in and out of the school house. Thanks for everything, Mr. Epstein ♥️

As we approach the 50th anniversary of the formation of Oak Summit School Historical Society in 2029, we would like to compile more photographs, written records, and stories of the bygone era of Oak Summit School to share with the community! 📚✏️🍎

Our town’s traditions and history must be remembered and carried on as each generation comes and goes! So please, feel free to contribute to the past, present, and future generations of Kingwood by sharing your knowledge, records, and stories ❤️

Come stop by the schoolhouse this Saturday (10/4) at 9 AM to step back in time to a simpler era! Our doors will be open for you to come and take a peek around. And while you’re at it, see if you can find any great treasures at our yard sale! All proceeds will go towards the preservation of the Oak Summit School. Hope to see you there 📚🍎✏️
