PINK HAZE by Sharline Vanpelt

Vanpelt’s practice centers on material exploration, creating primarily three-dimensional works shaped by labor, texture, and process. Rooted in the Arkansas Delta, her background growing up among rice fields and a lineage of farmhands deeply informs her work.

Through labor-intensive materials such as metal, her pieces reflect both resilience and the enduring impact of rural isolation, often exploring themes of escape and transformation.

It was wonderful to see our Hispanic community, faculty, alumni, current A-State students, and local community members come together to connect, learn, network, and share a meaningful evening through art and conversation.

Rachel Boillot is an artist and educator based in the Arkansas Delta. She earned her MFA from Duke University in 2014, and her practice continues to explore the emotional and cultural depth of the American landscape.
