Diehl Gallery is proud to present "Echoes of the Plains", a solo exhibition of new paintings by Douglas Schneider, opening in conjunction with the Fall Arts Festival's Palates & Palettes.

"Echoes of the Plains" is both a tribute and a reclamation — a visual dialogue between past and present that invites reflection on belonging, identity, and the land itself.

As Diehl Gallery continues its 25th year of exhibitions, this show highlights the gallery’s dedication to artists whose work bridges heritage and innovation, and whose voices deepen the evolving story of the contemporary West.

Stop by from 5-8 pm to enjoy complimentary beverages and delicious appetizers from !

Drawing upon his grandfather’s First Nations heritage and his own lifelong connection to the landscapes of the American West, Douglas Schneider creates bold, soulful paintings that blend cultural storytelling with contemporary vision.
His imagery — bison, cowboys, First Peoples, and sweeping plains — honors both the myth and the truth of the West.

Through expressive color, texture, and movement, Schneider captures the tension between memory and modernity, tradition and reinvention.

Join us on Friday, September 11th as we celebrate the opening reception of Douglas Schneider's "Echoes of the Plains" in conjunction with the Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival's Palates & Palettes.

New work by Chris Maynard is headed to the gallery! And that’s not the only exciting news—Maynard will be joining us at the gallery for a special book signing and artist talk on Friday, September 18th from 5-6 pm.

Using his ancestor's tools, mainly surgical scalpels, Maynard carves meaning into feathers. Feathers, themselves are perfect creations.

Maynard adds interest, nuance, and content for us by carving them into images that we can relate to and find meaning in.

Instead of chapters, he writes snippets for each image, exploring the symbolism and myths associated with feathers, the values and thoughts that arise when observing birds, their flight, and their behavior.

Join us to hear Maynard discuss his work and sign copies of his new book, "The Art of Chris Maynard: Feathers - Symbology and Meaning".

For more than five decades, Louise P. Sloane has pursued a rigorous and deeply personal exploration of color, geometry, texture, and language.

Since beginning her career in the mid-1970s, she has developed a distinctive body of abstract work that balances the formal concerns of Minimalism and Color Field painting with the intimacy of the artist's hand.

Sloane's paintings are structured around simple geometric forms—most often grids, rectangles, and squares—that serve as frameworks for complex visual experiences.

Within these ordered compositions, she builds richly textured surfaces through the repeated inscription of handwritten text, layering words until they become abstract marks rather than readable language.

Reach out today to learn more about Sloane and explore her available collection.

"I went into this collection thinking about the roles that landscapes play in our dreams; how they can often feel familiar but also unrecognizable. How elements from our waking hours are pulled apart and woven in, grounding these surreal and shifted realms, disguising them as reality." - Anastasia Kimmett

Kimmett is a Vancouver based artist who blends abstract art with design. Her solo exhibition "The Dreaming Wild" opens this Thursday, August 20th.

Kimmett's studies in fashion, with a focus on haute couture construction, instilled an appreciation for thoughtful design and hand-finished detailing, while exposing her to the wastefulness of fast fashion and prompting her to reconsider the impact of her own designs.

Join us on Thursday from 5-8 pm to celebrate with light appetizers, refreshments, and a gorgeous new body of work by Kimmett.

Diehl Gallery is excited to present "The Dreaming Wild", a solo exhibition of new mixed-media works by Anastasia Kimmett opening August 20th.

Among the most distinctive voices in the gallery's program, Kimmett creates evocative landscapes that occupy the shifting territory between recollection and imagination.

Kimmett's distinctive mixed-media practice combines painting, photography, illustration, and collage.

Fragments and remnants from previous works are incorporated into each composition, creating richly layered surfaces that reveal traces of their own making.

We'd love for you to join us from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 20th for the opening reception of this exciting new exhibition!
