The weather may be cooling down, but the countdown to the 2026 Iowa City Train Show is heating up! Less than 50 vendor tables remain until we are sold out! Check out our website for more details about this year's show at https://hawkeyemodelrrclub.com/iowa-city-train-show We can't wait to see you all on Sunday October 18th at the Johnson County Fairgrounds from 10am to 3pm!

The show will be at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Buildings B & C. Come see and shop at over 150 tables of model railroad items such as rollingstock, buildings, and see an expansive selection of books, memorabilia, lanterns and so much more!

Kids day at the fair! Should be a bit cooler outside today but we have plenty of rail action going on in our building, come check it out! We're open again until 6pm tonight

The Johnson County Fair is coming this Saturday and our club members are super excited to host our annual open house! We will have five different model railroads running all day! Below are our fair hours each day. As a reminder, the fair starts charging admission starting at 2pm Saturday through Tuesday.

Saturday: 9am-6pm
Sunday: 9am-6pm
Monday: 9am-6pm
Tuesday: 9am-6pm
Wednesday: 10am-3pm

Time is running out to catch the early bird rate for our 2026 Iowa City Train Show! Registration and payment must be postmarked by August 1st to receive the $25 per table registration. We are getting ready to lay a lot of track in the coming weeks, so we took this past Saturday to hold a track laying clinic for our members! The clinic included learning how to lay track on curves and soldering rail joiners and feeder wires. Make sure to come check out our progress during our open house at the Johnson County Fair July 25-29th!
