ArtMix ArtMix (formerly VSA Indiana) ArtMix transforms the lives of people with disabilities through the creation of art.

We fulfill our mission through a series of arts programs led by 20+ professional Teaching Artists who provide programming in schools, community centers, hospitals, and on-site in our adaptive arts studios. As a statewide nonprofit, ArtMix partners with people and organizations around the state to provide local access to accessible arts. Ongoing partnerships are currently based in Columbus, Evansville, and Muncie. Collectively these programs serve more than 6,000 people annually. Our primary focus is people with disabilities, however, we take an inclusive approach to implement programs and include a variety of people with and without disabilities.

We are a SYPI Grant Awardee! 🎉💜🎨

ArtMix is honored to receive Strengthening Youth Programs in Indiana (SYPI) initiative funding. This support will help us sustain our programs, strengthen our organization, and deepen our impact for the young people and families we serve.

We’re grateful to IYI for investing in youth-serving organizations across Indiana and helping young people thrive!

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month! 🎨

This month, we’re celebrating the skills, talents, and contributions of people with disabilities through the stories of our Urban Artisans.

Through our Urban Artisan program, these young adults are building more than artistic skills. They’re learning to solve problems, work as a team, adapt to new challenges, and take pride in what they create.

Throughout October, we’ll be sharing stories of their growth, highlighting the job skills you might not see behind the artwork, and hearing directly from our Urban Artisans about what they’ve learned and what they’re proud of.

We’re also launching a monthly giving campaign to help support end-of-semester stipends for our Urban Artisans. Your support helps us recognize their work and invest in their continued growth: https://giving.gofundme.com/campaign/848488/donate

We hope you’ll follow along, celebrate their talents, and be part of creating more opportunities for young adults with disabilities to learn, contribute, and grow.

A look back at Arts for All Fest 2026! 💜

One week later, we’re still thinking about how much fun we had!

More than 150 people joined us for an afternoon filled with:
Art-making across three studios 🎨
Live music + dancing 🎶
Tie-dye, coloring, and hands-on activities 🌈
A visit from The Book Fairy 📚
Ice cream, snacks, and treats 🍦
11 community organizations sharing resources 🤝

Making art accessible to people of all abilities is at the heart of what we do, and Arts for All Fest gives us the chance to share that mission with our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, volunteered, performed, partnered, created, danced, and celebrated with us!

Meet Jasmine! 👋🏼

Our featured Community Class Artist this month is Jasmine! Jasmine has been coming to ArtMix for a couple of years. She initially joined in our Exploratory Clay class and most recently participated in our Summer Urban Artisans program.

Jasmine shared that she loves the way clay feels in her hands and how it can be used to create so many different things. She loves picking out glaze colors- specifically red and black!

Jasmine also shared that she loves that she can be her usual cheerful and talkative self and still be accepted by everyone at ArtMix. Jasmine brings so much joy to everyone she meets, and we are so lucky to have her in our programs here! 💜
