Jerry Smith 20" x 24" oil on canvas, "Rosebud Resonance", signed lower right. Nicely framed and ready to hang. Price: $2,200.00

Artist Comments:

Redbud Resonance symbolizes that period of transition combining the immersion of spring buds and color with winter's remnants of earthy golds and browns -- always a sign of hope and renewal. Spring, where art thou?

Artist Comments:

Many people remember the children’s book "Misty of Chincoteague". I was in Virginia one summer and fortunate to paint the marshy area there. The ponies are actually on the island of Assateague but I could see some ponies way back from this view. The scene had a lovely hazy/misty look that

Artist Comments:

To me, The Soldiers and Sailors Monument is the “Queen of Circle City” and at night when she is lit up, she is wearing her jewels. I was fortunate to be able to paint from this lovely perspective in the Conrad Building. I hope you enjoy the view!

Painting of the Moment

Mark Burkett 7" x 6" woodcut on paper, "Deep in the Shades", signed lower right, ed. 4/20. Nicely framed and ready to hang. Price: $200.00

Artist Comments:

"Deep in the Shades" is a single color woodcut print, carved from plywood with a birch veneer. The dense wood grain allows greater detail in the carving than a softer wood, giving the print more the quality of a wood engraving. It represents an area in Indiana's Shades State Park.

I think of this painting as representing Dale Bessire's peaceful oasis. Painted in 1941 as war was raging all over the world -- on this quiet patch of sand, nothing could seem so far away. Wherever this finds you, I hope that seem peace pervades. Or if you're in Florida, never mind ;-). Best wishes for 2020!

Donna Shortt 9" x 12" oil on board, "Practicing Poetry", signed lower left. Nicely framed and ready to hang. Price: $475.00

Artist Comments:

Practicing Poetry was painted with the purpose of using brushstrokes in a sensitive manner. The cool versus warm elements were very important also. When I encountered this winter scene I knew it was something I wanted to capture in oil paint on linen. I hope that you can feel the poetry of it and the coming winter season.

Mark Burkett 11" x 17" woodcut on paper, "These Are the Days", signed lower right, ed. 5/30. Nicely framed and ready to hang. Price: $400.00

Artist Comments
These Are the Days is an 11" x 17" woodcut print utilizing 8 carved blocks to arrive at the final image. It's the largest print I've made and it reminds me of the creek where I would play when I was young.

Painting of the Moment

Rick Wilson 12" x 16" oil on board, "Brookville from Overlook Road". Nicely framed and ready to hang. Price: $1,400.00

Artist Comments
I've been going to the IPAPA "Last Brush of Fall" in Brookville for about ten or twelve years. It's always fun to paint in the steps of the Old Masters like TC Steele and William Forsythe. It's also fun to explore the area for new and exciting painting locations. I thought I had seen about all of the most iconic spots -- that is until this year. While driving past the county park to a fork in the road, I took the left fork because it had been a few years since I had taken that road. Just beyond a creek, I saw a road called "Overlook Rd". I had never noticed it before so with a name like "Overlook Rd", it had to be good. It did not disappoint. I got to the top and tucked behind a brick ranch house was the most spectacular view of Brookville I had ever seen.
