Our May Back-in-Time Children’s Activity is next week! Join us on May 19, 20, & 21, at 1pm each day for “Utah in 1776.” This month we will continue our commemoration of the semiquincentennial by exploring Utah in 1776! Come learn all about the Dominguez-Escalante Expedition and the Spanish explorers who created the first non-Native-produced documents about Utah's landscape.

NOTE: the dates were listed incorrectly in the City newsletter as being this week, May 12-14, but back-in-time is really next week, May 19-21!

Sign-up is encouraged, so visit, call (435-245-0208), or email ([email protected]) to let us know you’re coming. Programming is the same each day, you can attend either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. All museum events are free and open to everyone!

This is our last Back-in-Time of the 2025-2026 school year, but don't forget to join us for our Passport to Summer Fun, which kicks off at Hot Wheels in Hyrum 2026 on Saturday, June 6!

Our Super Saturday: Memorial Weekend Open House is on May 23! Join us from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm for your last chance to experience the traveling exhibit "Bringing War Home: Object Stories, Memory, & Modern War." The exhibit is accompanied by many wonderful artifacts that local veteran John A. Petersen brought home from Japan during his service in the U. S. Navy during the Cold War. We will offer a special family art activity based on the exhibit throughout the day. Make a visit to the Hyrum City Museum a part of your Memorial Weekend plans! Hyrum City Museum events are free and open to all!

Coloring pages are also available to pick up at the Museum or download from our website. Don’t forget to include your name, age, and address to collect your prize!

Our Super Saturday: Power of the Press is happening right now! We are open today, Saturday, April 25, from 10am-3pm. Come visit the Hyrum City Museum Print Shop to create your print your own souvenir and learn all about the importance of printing presses throughout history! Hyrum City Museum events are free and open to all!

If you have visited the museum in the last 6 months, you have likely met Teresa, our new museum educator! We thought we’d take a moment to introduce Teresa and remind you all who your favorite museum workers are.

Teresa is our museum educator. She plans and runs all of our programs, including Back-in-Time, Super Saturdays, and our Passport to Summer Fun! She is likely the first person you meet when you visit the museum and she fosters positive visitor experiences for everyone. Teresa is also an artist who paints beautiful water colors and brings a burst of creativity into our programs. We are so happy to have her join our team!

Courtney is our museum curator. She cares for the museum’s collection, which includes historic objects, books, archives, art, and photographs. She will track down historic photos for you and give you more information about how our objects are significant to the history of Hyrum. She also manages our website and social media (Hi!).

Jami is our museum director. She manages all administrative aspects of the museum, including directing the day-to-day operations, managing everything financial, and sustaining community partnerships. She also curates new exhibitions and is a fount of knowledge about Hyrum, Cache Valley, and Utah history.

Come say hi next time you’re in the neighborhood!

Thank you to everyone who attended the Bringing War Home Exhibition Grand Opening last Friday! The Bringing War Home Exhibit will be at the Hyrum City Museum through May 23!

The museum is located at 50 West Main Street in Hyrum and is open on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am-4pm. We will also be open on Saturday, April 25, and Saturday, May 23, for our Super Saturday events.
