Once a month the gallery gets quiet and prepares for a morning of absolute peace, Michelle Oates helps guide us through the journey of self discovery and physical exploration.

The human body and mind is so complex and Michelle does an amazing job at helping us understand the colorful world of it all!

This past event really proved that there is something special cultivating in Huntsville Tx. Hidden between the big cities and the sea of trees is Huntsville often forgotten and overlooked because it’s not a pretty Instagram backdrop, Imerj is attempting to be the first to pull the curtains to the side and put on display what we always knew existed in this town: talent, creativity, community and culture.

We want to take the time to thank every single person that attended this event, that invested their time and money into making it to our first art gala.

Thank you to our interns and our curators for making this a beautiful show!

And without our sponsors, this event would have been impossible. Many thanks to Joint & Spine Center, Fox & Barrel, The Smither Company, WilliamChris Vineyards and our artists: Casey Jackson, Tega Okperuvwe, Semone Robinson, Kristina Robinson, Lee Jamison & Rufius Electo.

Art and activism are inseparable. To do this work is to engage with the issues of our time, across every point of view. Imerj Art is grateful to find support on all sides through the arts.

Our sincere thanks to Congressman Christian Menefee and Congressman Morgan Luttrell for hosting us this week at Capitol Hill, and for the personal tour through the Capitol’s chambers.

In unity through the arts, I quote Abraham Lincoln,
“With malice toward none, with charity for all”

I met an artist named Danielle Finnerman a couple of months ago at a performance we had at our space, who is also project manager at HMAAC , and she introduced Mr. John Guess to our team recently. Mr. Guess and Danielle are definitely a rare find, not only do they believe in a more equitable future for justice-impacted art, they also share the same values and goals as we do. They believe in those values and goals so greatly that there will be more to come from this meaningful relationship. John appreciated the space and artists at Imerj so much that he had to leave with a piece from one of our artists Tega O. 🎨⛓️‍💥
