The FASNY Museum of Firefighting — America’s interactive firefighting museum

The Museum houses, cares for, and exhibits thousands of firefighting artifacts, from firefighting gear and equipment to photographs, art, and a 6,000-volume library. Through interpretation of its unequaled collection — the largest of its kind found anywhere in the world — and its many fun, hands-on exhibits, events and activities, the Museum fascinates, educates and delights visitors of all ages. The mission of the FASNY Museum of Firefighting is to educate a diverse audience about firefighting as history, as culture, as a service to humanity, as a preventative practice, and as ever-changing art and technology.

The Museum team has been busy transforming the space with spooky scenes and finishing their costumes for the big day. While we prepare, check out some of the fangtastic costumes the team wore at last year's event! 🌙✨

Join us on October 24th, 2026, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm for a FREE event: Trunk or Treat: Firefighter Edition! 🚒

Join Molly the Museum Dog and some of her closest firefighter friends for a unique event you will not soon forget. Joining Molly will be local firefighters with their decorated fire trucks giving out treats, and there will be even more treats to collect inside the “spooktacular” Museum! Collect treats, play fire safety Halloween-themed games, and vote for your favorite fire truck and trunk, as we celebrate another super spooky season at the Museum! 🎃

The FASNY (The Firefighters Association of the State of New York) Museum of Firefighting is located at 117 Harry Howard Avenue, Hudson, NY, 12534, and is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 am until 4:30 pm.

🚒 FIRE SAFETY IS A SKILL EVERY CHILD SHOULD KNOW.

Fire Safety and Prevention with Firefighter Fran at the FASNY Museum of Firefighting explores a Hazard House, learn when to dial 9-1-1, discuss stop, drop and roll, and discover ways to prevent fires and burns.

Firefighter Fran uses sound effects and a musical puppet show to reinforce the key concepts and keep students actively engaged.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for another fantastic Dalmatian Day! 🐾

We had a wonderful time meeting all the Dalmatians and their owners, being entertained by Keith Nelson of Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, meeting Firestar, and enjoying many fun goodies from our generous sponsors, among SO many other activities.

Tomorrow is the big day... It's Dalmatian Day 2026! Not only will visitors be able to enjoy meeting live Dalmatians, but they'll be able to bring home Dalmatian-themed items of their own when they visit the Museum's gift shop, Harry's Gift Emporium 🚒

The shop offers a wide selection of Dalmatian plush, books featuring Dalmatians, Molly the Museum Dog items, and even treats and toys for your furry friends! Be sure to shop both inside and outside of the Museum building when you visit during Dalmatian Day 2026 🐾

This past week, the Museum has been welcoming cruise visitors from American Cruise Lines as they traveled along the Hudson River route.

During their excursions, cruise passengers have enjoyed exploring the Museum's exhibits, engaging in hands-on activities related to fire history, and meeting both Molly the Museum Dog and Greta the Detector Dog.

Museum Educator Kathy Slade attended the National Association of State Foresters (NASF) annual meeting and award ceremony in Lexington, Kentucky, to accept her Smokey Bear award.

Kathy went above and beyond to incorporate wildfire prevention programming into the FASNY Museum of Firefighting and to educate the next generation of firefighters and wildfire prevention professionals. Her partnerships with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Rangers and Scouting America illustrate her strong initiative and leadership, and therefore, she was honored with this national award.

The Museum team is excited to see Kathy’s hard work recognized and wishes her all the best! 🐻❤️
