Today is William Baker Thompson's birthday! William was born on this day in 1838. To celebrate here are some pictures of William throughout his life.

William was one of the three brothers (with Gamallel Ingham and Royal Wheeler Thompson) to settle in Hudson after the Civil War and start the Osborn, Perkins and Company Banking House in Hudson (the bank would later be named Thompson Brothers Banking House and then finally in 1892 the Thompson's Savings Bank).

In 1884, William became appointed by President Chester A. Arthur to the Second Assistant Postmaster General. This document signed by the President is proudly on display at the Thompson House Museum's Visitor Center.

Thanks to everyone that came out to the Thompson Tea last weekend at the W.G. Thompson House Museum! It was a big success!

As a reminder, our last Thompson Afternoon Tea this summer will be held on Saturday, August 15th @ 1:00pm. We do have some spaces available, but are filling up fast.

We are almost sold out and have limited space left for the Saturday, July 18th Afternoon Tea. We are taking reservations and still currently have spaces left for our Saturday, August 15th Afternoon Tea.

More information on our Afternoon Teas being offered this summer is below!

Step back in time to the early 1900โ€™s and enjoy an afternoon tea on the porch of the Thompson House Museum. Our teas will be in the style of an English Tea service including scones, finger sandwiches, desserts, and our special Thompson Tea.
โ€ข The teas will be held on Saturday July 18th and Saturday August 15th at 1:00 p.m.
โ€ข The price is $25.00 per person. Tours will be provided for a special discounted rate for attendees of $5.00 additional.
