FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
CITY OF HUDSON ANNOUNCES COUNCIL VACANCY APPOINTMENT PROCESS
The City Council formally accepted the resignation of Councilmember Natalie Loop during its regular meeting on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
In accordance with Section 5.6 of the City Charter, the City Council will appoint an individual to temporarily fill the vacant council seat. The appointed individual will serve until the November 2026 election, at which time voters will elect a candidate to complete the remainder of the unexpired term ending in December 2027.
The City of Hudson is now accepting letters of interest from residents interested in being considered for appointment to the position.
ELIGIBILITY:
Applicants must:
◾️ Be a resident of the City of Hudson for at least one year prior to appointment
◾️ Be a qualified and registered elector of the City of Hudson
◾️ Not be in default or indebted to the City of Hudson
◾️ Meet all qualifications outlined within the City Charter
SUBMISSION INFORMATION:
Letters of interest will be accepted beginning Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
The deadline for submission is:
FRIDAY, MAY 29, 2026 AT 12:00 p.m.
Letters and supporting material may be:
◾️ Hand delivered to the Hudson City Hall
◾️ Emailed to City Manager Jeremiah Davies at [email protected] or City Clerk Jeaniene McClellan at [email protected]
Applicants may include any background information, qualifications, experience, or other materials they believe are relevant for Council consideration.
Following the submission deadline, all application materials will be distributed to City Council for review. Council is expected to openly discuss applicants and consider an appointment during the regular City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
