BLAFFER Art Museum Blaffer Art Museum is the contemporary art museum at the University of Houston. Always FREE. Closed Mondays.

Located at UH’s central campus, Blaffer Art Museum is a catalyst for creative innovation, experimentation, and scholarship. Its exhibitions and programs are FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, create community through dialogue and participation and inspire an appreciation for the visual arts as a vital force in shaping contemporary culture. Visit Blaffer Art Museum Tues-Fri 10:00am-5:00pm and Sat-Sun 12:00pm-5:00pm.

Kristin Saleri 💕
1916-2006

Kristin Saleri was born in Silivri, Turkey, the youngest of five children of Armenian parents. She received her initial art training at the Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts and later under André Lhote in Paris. During her lifetime, she produced more than 3,000 pieces of art, mainly oil paintings, and won a number of prestigious international awards.

Saleri held more than 40 individual exhibitions over four decades. Her canvases come alive with a harmonious blend of Eastern mysticism and Western impressionism. Kristin Saleri's works have been acquired by museums and private collectors worldwide.

From the 1960s onwards, Kristin Saleri mentored dozens of young artists from her studios in Istanbul. With her relentless energy and humor, she remained a source of inspiration for many aspiring artists.
The Kristin Saleri Art Foundation was established in 2011 by Dr. Nansen G. and Mrs. Marina S. Saleri to memorialize her contributions to 20th century art.

Join us for a summer soiree at the Blaffer Art Museum! 🍸🌞

Set within the dynamic University of Houston Arts District, the evening unfolds across the Louise J. Moran Courtyard—an outdoor space activated for the night with music, conversation, and unexpected delights. Guests will enjoy thoughtfully crafted cocktails, seasonal bites, and live music alongside artists, patrons, and creative voices from across Houston.

Exhibitions by renowned artists Adriana Corral and Maria Gaspar will be on view inside the museum, and guests can bid on a unique panel of curated experiences and bespoke items in a silent auction. Proceeds from this festive evening make possible the Blaffer Art Museum's bold exhibitions, thought-provoking programs, and impactful educational initiatives.

Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served by Café Natalie and live music by Bayou City Funk Band Bayou City Funk will fill the courtyard, for an evening inspired by our Gulf Coast traditions.

An after party will be held at Bar Daphne Hotel Daphne in the Heights from 8pm-11pm.
