Wallpaper Wednesday: Joan Miró Layered Over Miró

This week, we’re pairing Joan Miró’s Homage to Joan Prats with a bold black-and-white wallpaper that picks up on the artwork’s playful shapes, lines and marks.

Robert Motherwell (1915–1991), Primal Sign III (AP 1/X)

Robert Motherwell trained in philosophy and painted like it. One of abstract expressionism’s founders and most articulate voices, he’s known for bold black forms against raw white that carried political and philosophical weight. Bold gesture, quiet intellect.
