Step inside one of Harrisonburg's historic and iconic buildings 🏠 Take a guided tour of the Hardesty-Higgins House, built in 1848 and once home to Harrisonburg's first mayor, to uncover the history hidden behind its walls. Experienced travel specialists will be offering free tours Mondays and Fridays at 3 p.m. starting this Monday, September 1! Advanced reservations for house tours are recommended by calling 540-432-8935.

The Hardesty-Higgins Visitor Center in Downtown Harrisonburg is open 7 days a week from 9 am-5 pm. Inside you will find a state-certified Visitor Center, the Valley Turnpike Museum, the Virginia Craftsman Showroom, Rocktown Gift Shoppe, Heritage Bakery and Café, and a Civil War Orientation Center.

Visit and explore a piece of Harrisonburg's past preserved in the present.
