Dear Friends of The Landing,

We hope you have enjoyed our 2026 episodes and the wonderful special guests who joined us along the way. It has been such a joy to share these conversations, stories, and connections with you.

As we move into June, The Landing will be taking a short hiatus from our regular guest episodes. During this time, we are excited to fill the month with special readings and recordings from the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum that celebrate the heritage, voices, and stories of our beautiful Down East community. (Links to listen below!)

We hope these meaningful features bring you comfort, inspiration, and a deeper connection to the place we all love so much.

Thank you for listening, supporting, and being part of this journey with us. We are already looking forward to returning in July with more guests, more stories, and more conversations on The Landing.

Until then, we hope you enjoy this special June season.

With gratitude,
Staci
Host of The Landing

Core Sound's STORM NIGHT 2026
Thursday Evening - May 28

An open community discussion and roundtable...
for all Down East residents and others who work here and/or have family here.

You are invited (and encouraged) to join us for this year's STORM NIGHT conversation. Please RSVP at the link below.

In collaboration with Carteret County Emergency Services and the full support of Carteret County government, a working (and growing) committee of Down East residents are bringing together a community-based STORM PREPARATION, RESPONSE and RECOVERY plan specifically for Down East. This plan will address road access and communication issues that we learned during Florence were critical to our safety and recovery.

To learn more, we are asking Down East residents (full-time and part-time) to complete a survey (link below). This will help us understand our community's anticipated needs, challenges and resources. Please take the time to do this short survey whether you can attend Thursday night or not! This is important!
*For those of you who were unable to complete the survey last week, it has now been adjusted to accept responses from all emails. Please try again!

We invite you to share this with family and friends and if needed, to complete a survey for family members who do not have internet access. We want to know about everyone. We hope you will join us Thursday evening to learn more about "Down East Together" and see how you can get involved.
