Two New Welcome Additions to Our Butterfly Gardens

The first photo is of the new Porterweed "Black Chinned Bliss". Porterweeds are top flowers in butterfly and pollinator gardens across the US.
The second photo is a new ageratum called "Monarch Magic". Unlike taller ageratums ,it is compact and spreads out up to 18 inches. It is a great favorite of monarch butterflies, and reputedly needs no deadheading.
This season at the the Museum gardens will be the Summer of Butterflies and Hummingbirds!

Coming to the Gardens Soon!

Lantanas are one of the best flowers for bringing butterflies to the garden. and for the last few seasons we have put the wonderful Landmark Rose Sunrise in our front porch beds. This year we are adding the variety "Passionfruit", a spreading, trailing lantana which can be used as a ground cover. It should be spectacular. These photos were provided free by the Penn State Ag Department.
