Calling all actors! The 24th Annual Mary Meachum Freedom Crossing Celebration needs your talent for our October 10th production on the mighty Mississippi Riverfront beneath the Gateway Arch, all about St. Louis in the 1850s!

Seeking adults of all ages + kids 8-12 to portray both enslaved people and their enslavers. Bring a monologue! Some may also be asked to sing and dance.

Auditions: August 4th and 5th

Our founder, Erasmus Green, along with his friend, A.J. Hindman, are included in this memorial. Both are resting eternally here at Rocky Fork.

The African American Civil War Memorial was dedicated on this date in 1998 here in Washington, D.C. Located at U Street and Vermont Avenue, the memorial honors the more than 200,000 African American soldiers and sailors who served in the U.S. Army and Navy during the Civil War. The central feature is sculptor Ed Hamilton's "Spirit of Freedom." The large bronze statue expresses the determination of the men who helped to end the war and free over four million enslaved people. Curving around the dramatic statue, low walls are covered in lines of names, connecting visitors to the individuals who served and sacrificed. We hope you'll stop by soon to experience this powerful place for yourself.
