╰┈➤ The 2027 Art Omi: Artists Open Call deadline is just two weeks away! Applications are due by 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟰, 𝟭𝟭:𝟱𝟵 𝗣𝗠 𝗘𝗦𝗧.

Art Omi: Artists invites artists, critics, and curators from around the world - representing a wide diversity of styles and practices - to experiment, collaborate, and share ideas in rural New York. Concentrated time for creative work is balanced with the stimulation of cultural exchange and critical appraisal. Art Omi: Artists Residency nurtures deep creative and professional connections in a vibrant social setting.
This program was designed for artists who have been professionally active for at least the past five years in disciplines such as visual arts, sound art, performance, and social practice. Formal art education is not a requirement: we accept applications from those who are self-taught.

The application deadline for the 2027 Open Call categories, Art Omi: Architecture, Dance, and Music, is Thursday, October 1, 2026.

Our Fall Sessions kick off Saturday, September 12 (10 AM–12 PM), and we can't wait to welcome young artists ages 5–11 into the Sculpture & Architecture Park!

Each Saturday brings a brand-new project providing kids the opportunity to explore the park, get inspired by the art around them, and create something new alongside our Art Omi: Education teaching artists. No two weekends are the same!

Nayland Blake's first outdoor installation is now on view in the Sculpture & Architecture Park. "𝘏𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘵": 𝘉𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘝𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺𝘢 𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘳𝘦 is a new commission that reimagines the 18th-century "ornamental hermit" through Blake's alter ego, Victorya Spectre. Part sibyl, part cryptid, part garden gnome ancestor, Victorya dispenses fragments of insight from their studio/nest — part classroom, part lounge, part farm stand, part abandoned amusement ride.

Start your journey at the Newmark Gallery, located inside the Benenson Visitors Center, and look for the park sign to start you on your way through the gallery, then on your path of bells through the Sculpture & Architecture Park, leading to the folly in the woods…

Autumn is arriving and Architecture is on the agenda! Join us for the unveiling of two extraordinary new installations, 𝘛𝘈𝘌𝘓𝘖𝘕7: 𝘓𝘪𝘮𝘣𝘰 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘸𝘢 and 𝘔𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘦𝘭 𝘔𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘏𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘚𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦: 𝘈 𝘋𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘖𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘪, at Art Omi's 𝔽𝕒𝕝𝕝 𝔸𝕣𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕥𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕦𝕣𝕖 𝕆𝕡𝕖𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘 on Saturday, September 19, from 2–5 PM.

The two newly commissioned pieces will debut consecutively in the vast fields of the Sculpture & Architecture Park with three musical performances, including music from Grammy Award–winning artists, presented inside A Dome with Four Oculi.

𝙏𝘼𝙀𝙇𝙊𝙉7: 𝙇𝙞𝙢𝙗𝙤 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙬𝙖
Limbo Engawa marks the Hudson Valley debut of a cross-continental commission between Art Omi and Accra's 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗼 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺. Designed by architect 𝗝𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻-𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗵𝗺𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 of 𝗧𝗔𝗘𝗟𝗢𝗡𝟳, the project was first presented at Limbo Museum in Accra, Ghana, this past March, where it was installed on the museum's unfinished concrete structure. For its Art Omi presentation, the installation has been reconfigured as a freestanding landscape pavilion, reimagined in response to the meadowlands, wetlands, and woods of the Hudson Valley.

𝙈𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙚𝙡 𝙈𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙃𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚: 𝘼 𝘿𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙊𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙞
A Dome with Four Oculi brings the architecture studio 𝗠𝗢𝗦 to Art Omi with an aluminum-shingled dome — part shrunken Pantheon, part misplaced silo top — built as a place to sit, gather, and look outward across the park.

The opening will be celebrated with a concert exploring the acoustic space of A Dome with Four Oculi, starting at 3 PM:

♭ Work by Christian Quiñones and Charlotte Mundy, performed by the artists

Reminder: applications are open for the 2027 Art Omi: Architecture, Artists, Dance, and Music international residency programs!

Applicants selected through a competitive jury process are invited to attend Art Omi residencies at no cost, except travel expenses. Art Omi offers the opportunity to cultivate a global, vibrant community. Sharing ideas, creative space, and meals comprises a major part of the resident experience. Each program has at least one event inviting the public to observe the creative processes and work produced in residency.

These musicians hail from a multitude of traditions and genres, combining their approaches for novel and unforeseeable results!

♯ Art Omi: Music in the Barn will take place rain or shine at the ADA-accessible Art Omi Studio Barn. Parking on the grass is available next to the Studio Barn. Leashed dogs are permitted outdoors on Art Omi's grounds, but not in the Studio Barn.

🏛️ Calling all Spanish architects!

In partnership with Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) (), one Art Omi: Architecture Summer 2027 residency spot is now reserved for an Architect of Spanish nationality, or who resides and works regularly in Spain. This fellowship brings one AC/E-selected architect into Art Omi's international program alongside nine other emerging and mid-career architects from around the world, working independently on a research or design project at the Art Omi campus in the Hudson Valley, NY.

The Art Omi: Architecture residency is held from May 27–June 14, 2027, and the selected Architect for this fellowship will receive round-trip airfare, private housing, studio space, daily meals, a $300 stipend, and a visa support letter to support their attendance and craft.

This opportunity is open to architects with at least five years of professional experience following their M.Arch or professional licensure, currently active in architectural practice or university teaching. Currently enrolled degree students are not eligible.

🌾 Join us as we celebrate our 2026 honoree, the remarkable Jack Shear at the Art Omi Upstate Benefit held on Saturday, September 26, 5:30 PM at Pocketbook Hudson.

Jack, who lives and works in Spencertown, NY is the husband of the late renowned artist, Ellsworth Kelly. He continues to carry his legacy forward with remarkable dedication as President of the Ellsworth Kelly Foundation, and Executive Director of the Ellsworth Kelly Studio.

Jack is widely known for his vision, generosity, and lifelong dedication to the arts as a philanthropist, art collector, curator, and photographer. As a philanthropist, Jack has generously supported local organizations in Columbia County that improve the lives of residents and provide opportunities for civic engagement, while also displaying tremendous support for the arts across the globe.

With a lifelong passion for collecting art, Jack has built a collection of over 2,000 works on paper ranging from Old Masters to contemporary artists. Jack has published a number of books; his most recent, Knot, pairs his photographs with various works by Forrest Gander, 2019 Pulitzer Prize winning poet. Jack’s work is represented in the permanent collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Albany Institute of History and Art.

A very special thank you to The Ellsworth Kelly Studio and Jack Shear for donating a private tour of the Ellsworth Kelly Studio for our Live Auction hosted by Jacqueline Towers-Perkins. This exclusive experience for up to six guests will be led by Jack Shear and end with a dînatoire on site.

This year, the Art Omi Upstate Benefit aims to exceed our fundraising goal of $200,000. All proceeds go toward growing the accessibility and success of what you have helped us build.
