Whaley Historic House Museum of Flint, Michigan The WHHM is open year round, offering tours of this stately home as it was during the late 19th century. Your tax dollars are at work!

Explore the Whaley family legacy of Family, Philanthropy, and Preservation during your next tour, or at one of our regularly scheduled programs! The Whaley Historic House Museum is the historic home of the Whaley family, who resided in the home from 1885 - 1925. Newly restored following a devastating fire in 2015, The Whaley Historic House Museum preserves the house endeavors to continue the legacy of benevolence, collaboration, and civic-mindedness of the McFarlan-Whaley family. Come learn about the importance of the Whaley family to the development of Flint and gain a deeper appreciation and understanding for our shared cultural heritage and history! The Whaley Historic House Museum is open year-round and offers regularly scheduled and special programming and events, as well as public guided tours on the first and third Saturdays of the month from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, with the exception of holiday weekends. Admission is free during our open hours, courtesy of the Greater Flint Arts Council Share Art Genesee Grant Program made possible by the Genesee County Arts Education and Cultural Enrichment Millage funds. We are also happy to offer guided tours to individuals and groups by appointment, during the week. Please call (810)-238-7228 or e-mail ([email protected]) to schedule an appointment. You are invited to attend our latest seasonal exhibit, Victorian House in Mourning. Throughout October, the house will be cloaked in the black crepe of death, showcasing 19th-century mourning traditions, and how families in this time period would have coped with passing of a loved one. This exhibit heavily focuses on the topic of death, funerals, and mourning traditions; viewer discretion is advised. Private and after-hours tours can be scheduled by appointment.

If you happened to see a van from Sharp Funeral Homes this morning outside the house, fret not; they were exceptionally generous in making an in-kind sponsorship for our upcoming "Victorian House in Mourning" exhibit. Our deepest thanks to them and Martin Funeral Home for making this years exhibit extra special, educational, and realistic. We anticipate this new exhibit to be open for viewing by Friday.

We're beyond excited (and a little scandalized 😉) to have a touch of ancient Greece come to our side lawn the weekend of June 18th with this production of Lysistrata! We invite all our friends and neighbors to join us and Buckham Alley Theatre to support community theater and the arts in !

Join Buckham Alley Theatre as we jump back to a Greek Comedy! We will be presenting this show OUTSIDE the - so bring a chair or a blanket to come see this hilarious comedy. We recommend 18+ for this production there are some adult topics. Tickets can be purchased at BuckhamTheatre.org
