Please join the Fairhope Museum of History on Saturday, June 27th, at 1:00pm to welcome Dr. Diana Sturm as our June speaker! Dr. Diana Sturm holds a PhD in geology with a background in geophysics and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Alabama. She will present "You Are Electric: The Science That Will Change How You Think About Nature".

✍️In celebration of America’s 250th, Fairhope is hosting a transcribe-a-thon! Join us at the Fairhope Museum of History on June 20th from 1pm-3pm and get a first-hand look at some of the letters, notes, diaries, and documents from Fairhope’s founding years. Help transcribe the documents for the first time to be made accessible online. Volunteers can bring their own laptop to type transcriptions or use provided paper and pencils. Volunteers must be able to read cursive and, if transcribing onto paper, write legibly.

Brandon Hargraves is of the Baldwin County Beekeepers Association and B's Bees, and he will discuss the history of beekeeping in Alabama and why it is important.

Admission is FREE and Open to the Public and refreshments will be provided!

The museum is getting ready for a new temporary exhibit- the Open Archives! The 3D exhibit on the museum's second floor will be coming down over the next few weeks and, as part of our America250 events, we will be putting up a display of some of our most interesting objects from Fairhope history. These include military uniforms, a Civil War artillery shell, early 20th-century medical equipment, a telegraph key, "Fairhope's first cell phone" and more!

As part of Fairhope's celebration of America250, the Fairhope Public Library and Fairhope Museum of History will be hosting a genealogy day presentation! Cathy Wilson, an LDS representative and local genealogy organizer, and Gabriel Gold-Vukson, director of the Fairhope Museum of History, will present tips, tricks, methods, and resources for finding information about your ancestors. The presentation will take place in the Fairhope Public Library's Giddens Auditorium on May 2nd at 1pm and admission is free. Guests are welcome to bring their own laptops to follow along if they would like, but this is not required.

Last free walking tour of 2026 is this Saturday, April 25th, with Alan Samry! Tours of downtown Fairhope will start at the Fairhope Welcome Center at 10am. Tours will last approximately one hour and cover one mile.
