In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the El Paso County Historical Society is highlighting prominent figures in our community with past Hall of Honor inductees!

In 2015 we inducted Nestor Valencia, he knows what it means to improve and give back to his city. He was a key role in revitalizing the trolley system in downtown as well as the San Jacinto Plaza.

In 2024 we inducted Yolanda Arriola, a champion of education, especially for those who could not easily afford it. She was the founder and CEO of Southwest University She had a passion for teaching and a deep commitment to her students.

Abraham Chavez Jr. was a legendary El Paso violinist, music educator, and the long-serving Music Director and Conductor of the El Paso Symphony Orchestra. His life’s work connected communities across borders, inspired young musicians, and elevated El Paso’s cultural life.
