Today, in the midst of a Nor'Easter, several of our members took part in the annual . Team East Rutherford donated over $1,000 to the cause.

The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation was created in honor of FDNY FF Stephen Siller who made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11 notoriously running through the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel, in full gear, to get to the World Trade Center to help. The Foundation now supports programs supporting our veterans, first responders and their families.

Katelyn M. Gallardo, 20, of Maywood, NJ, has been arrested and charged in connection with a hit-and-run motor vehicle crash that occurred on Interstate 80 East on Sunday, September 20, at approximately 4:34 a.m. The crash left a Saddle Brook police officer with serious injuries.

Through their investigation, detectives from the Saddle Brook Police Department and the New Jersey State Police identified the vehicle as a white 2024 Honda Accord. Detectives subsequently identified the vehicle’s owner and located the Honda at a residence in Maywood. The vehicle exhibited damage consistent with the crash on Interstate 80.

Gallardo was charged with second-degree Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, third-degree Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Injury, and third-degree Endangering an Injured Victim. She was lodged in the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing.

Charges are merely accusations, and the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The investigation remains active, and no additional information is available.

New Jersey State Police are seeking the public's assistance with a hit and run investigation involving a Saddle Brook Police Department Police Officer, who was struck on the side of Route 80 earlier this morning with conducting a motor vehicle stop.

State Police Seeking Public’s Assistance with Serious Hit-and-Run Motor Vehicle Crash Investigation

Earlier today, September 20, at approximately 4:34 a.m., a Saddle Brook Twp. police officer was on a traffic stop of a grey Nissan Maxima on Interstate 80 eastbound, milepost 62.4, in the deceleration lane of I-80 eastbound. While outside the vehicle, an unknown vehicle traveling east struck the left side of the Maxima and the Saddle Brook Twp. police officer. The vehicle failed to remain at the scene. As a result of the crash, the officer sustained serious injuries. The three occupants of the Nissan sustained no injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about events before, during, or after the incident is asked to contact Troop “B” Totowa Station at 973-785-9412.
