Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Third Friday Reception, rain and all! It was a wonderful evening filled with conversation, connection, and all things art.

Exciting news! The Columbus Museum of Art has acquired a painting by 5 Points Gallery artist King Nobuyoshi Godwin for its permanent collection.

King’s painting, The leopard Is having a perfect day because It’s with the animal friends (2025), was selected through this year’s Alma Thomas Society Purchase Party, an acquisition program that supports the museum’s collection of contemporary art.

King’s joyful, imaginative paintings invite viewers into a world shaped by his unique perspective, where color, storytelling, and possibility come together in deeply personal ways. We are thrilled to celebrate another well-deserved recognition of King’s extraordinary artistic vision.

We are especially grateful to Marianne Richter, Director, and Jonathan Frederick Walz, Ph.D., Director of Curatorial Affairs & Curator of American Art, as well as the museum staff and supporters who helped make this milestone possible.

Congratulations, King! We couldn’t be happier for you and look forward to sharing more of your remarkable work with our community.
