Yesterday's performance of Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" by Delaware County's Central Ohio Symphony was amazing! Hopefully the first of many collaborations to come, the Ross Art Museum helped bring Columbus-based graffiti artist Lance Johnson back to Delaware for a unique experience.

The Ross Art Museum and the Central Ohio Symphony are members of the Arts Alliance of Delaware County Ohio. The Arts Alliance brings together not-for-profit arts organizations from throughout the county, providing mutual support for our unique missions and enabling creative experiences for residents and visitors. A big thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who showed up this weekend to help us plant the flagship garden for our Sculpture and Native Plant Gardens around the museum. Also shout out to for the wonderful selection of plants and garden design. We can't wait to see the garden in full bloom this summer! ☀🌺🌸🌼

Join us on Tuesday, April 21st at the Ross Art Museum! Rod Bouc will lead a Walk & Talk tour through his exhibit "Transitory Spaces." We'll gather at 1:00 pm and conversation will begin promptly at 1:15 pm. Bouc will discuss his subject matter and technique.

Bouc’s overlooked, transitory spaces are both familiar and foreign. Memories of the rural landscapes of his childhood on a Nebraska farm remain a foundation of his life and work. In his paintings and drawings, an unimproved, unmaintained dirt road becomes a sacred route. With dramatic light and deep shadow, common trees, weeds, and flowers exude a spiritual presence.

Art inspires music. Music inspires art.

Next Sunday, April 26, don’t miss a truly unique performance of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, brought to life with a live onstage painting by artist Lance Johnson.

As the orchestra performs this iconic masterpiece, Johnson will create a new work in real time, responding to the music moment by moment. Recently featured at Franklin Park Conservatory and known for his onstage collaborations with BalletMet and other local performing arts companies, he brings a dynamic visual dimension to this already vivid score. His appearance is presented in collaboration with the Ross Art Museum.

Experience this one-of-a-kind work of art inspired by music—originally inspired by art. Tickets are available at https://centralohiosymphony.org/concert/25c50c96/Pictures-at-an-Exhibition
