Spring Hours starting Wednesday, April 1! ☀️🌷

The Days of '76 Museum will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

The museums welcome groups of 10 or more with advance reservations. For group tour information, please call 605-722-4800.

Duane Reichert wore these black and white Nike high-top cleats. A beloved local rodeo clown for over 45 years, Duane hails from New Underwood and has dedicated his life to the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). Throughout his career, he has earned numerous medals and honors for his outstanding contributions to the rodeo community and his unwavering commitment to local events. – Days of '76 Museum Collection

This gold-colored button commemorates the inaugural Days of '76 Celebration held in 1924. As one of the oldest surviving artifacts from the event, it offers a tangible link to the early history of the celebration. The button was presented to Ron Burns in 2007 and is currently on display at the Days of ‘76 Museum. – Days of '76 Museum Collection

Belle Fourche resident J.D. Garrett Jr., who competed in the ba****ck riding event at the Days of ’76 rodeo in 2002, signed this rodeo contestant placard. That year, Garrett ranked 7th in the world standings and was among the top 20 ba****ck riders in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association PRCA). Today, he is recognized as one of the top horse trainers in the region. – Days of '76 Museum Collection

This Black Hills Gold bolo tie was presented to Bob McManis in recognition of his long-standing dedication to the rodeo. Beginning in 1947, McManis served as the announcer for the Days of '76 Rodeo for over 30 years. Renowned for his skill and professionalism, he was considered one of the top rodeo announcers in the country. – Adams Museum Collection

This white hose cart once belonged to the Chinese community. It was used for hose cart races and even won the hub-and-hub championship race on July 4, 1888. You can visit this wagon in the carriage gallery at the Days of ‘76 Museum. – Days of ’76 Museum Collection
