The gallery works very closely with a stable of nearly twenty artists on exhibitions, projects, and publications. In addition to organizing year-round exhibitions at the gallery, Talley Dunn Gallery collaborates with numerous museums, institution

s, and galleries from coast to coast on exhibitions and acquisitions. The gallery encourages the growth and development of gallery artists through the combination of an ambitious exhibition program and an ongoing dialogue with museum curators and art critics from the United States and Europe. In addition, the gallery gives considerable attention to the cultivation of private collectors and their interests in contemporary art. Ugo Rondinone’s “dallas mountain” evokes the enduring primeval tradition of stacking stones as sculptures. The free standing work synthesize multiple references of megaliths and monuments but does not rely on them for power. In the tradition of abstract art, the large brightly painted stone sculpture is evidence of human presence and addresses our innate sensibility.

Talley Dunn Gallery prides itself on working with artists on ambitious site-specific projects and building collections of significance. The gallery coordinates every aspect of these comprehensive projects, including the artist selection, artwork acquisition, and final placement.

Virtual Artist Panel Discussion, Thursday August 20th at 4pm MDT, CPAC Executive Director and Curator Samantha Johnston will lead a virtual panel discussion with exhibiting artists. Event is free to attend, but registration is required.

Overgrown Neuron is on view this summer in our Project Gallery! Visit us and experience a rare glimpse into Roxy Paine’s commission process for Overgrown Neuron, a monumental public sculpture at UTSW!

Roxy Paine references the dendrite forms for which he is renowned and created the composition of the neuron through detailed ink drawings, then turned to an intricate stainless-steel model before embarking on the large-scale outdoor sculpture.

Christopher Wool’s sculpture “Untitled“ plays with perspective in an unexpected way!

Though it’s unmistakably three - dimensional, it’s flattened form gives it a two - dimensional presence that , when approached from the side, nearly disappears from view. This electric metallic copper-plated sculpture firmly stands as an uneven assembly of interwoven wire that twists on itself in rounded edges and abrupt intersecting angles.
