August 25, 2007: The Reds honored David Concepción’s 19-year career with the organization in a pre-game ceremony by retiring his uniform number 13. In 1970, when Concepción came to the majors, he settled on number 13 in tribute to his mother who was born in 1913.

August 19, 1965: Reds Hall of Famer Jim Maloney pitched a 10-inning no-hitter against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Leo Cárdenas, also a Reds Hall of Famer, hit a solo home run in the top of the 10th inning to score the game’s only run in the 1-0 Reds victory.
