Stansbury Home Preservation Assoc. Built in 1883 by Dr Oscar Stansbury, the home stands today as it did at the turn of the century.

The Stansbury Home is a Victorian home built by Dr. Oscar Stansbury in 1883. The home was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and in 1991 was listed as supporting the South Campus Historic District. While the home is now the property of The City of Chico, the Stansbury Home Preservation Association is charged with the responsibility to fund and maintain the 19th century hist

oric residence in it’s original state. The Stansbury Home is located at the corner of Fifth and Salem streets and is open for public tours on Sat. & Sun. 1-4pm; donations of $5 per adult and $3 for children 12 and under are requested.

🌡️ Due to the extreme heat forecast, The Stansbury Home will be closed today, June 13, 2026, and tomorrow, June 14, 2026, to ensure the safety and comfort of our visitors, volunteers, and staff.

💙 While we may be closed, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to the generous donors who are helping us work toward our goal of installing an air conditioning system in the home. Every donation brings us one step closer to preserving this historic treasure while making it more comfortable and accessible for everyone who visits.

🏡 We are also incredibly thankful for the continued support of the Chico community. Your encouragement, generosity, and dedication to local history help keep the Stansbury Home thriving for future generations.

Teyleir & Brielle said I do at The Stansbury, and honestly… if walls could talk, they’d still be swooning. From the sweetest moments to the biggest smiles, their day was the kind you wish you could bottle up and relive again and again 💞
