Tiger Strikes Asteroid Chicago

Tiger Strikes Asteroid is a network of artist-run spaces with locations in Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, Los Angeles and Greenville.

Tiger Strikes Asteroid is a network of artist-run spaces with locations in Philadelphia, New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Our goal is to collectively bring people together, expand connections and build community through artist-initiated exhibitions, projects, and curatorial opportunities. We seek to further empower the artist’s role beyond that of studio practitioner to include the roles of curator, critic, and community developer; and to act as an alternate model to the conventions of the current commercial art market. Our exhibitions and projects have been featured in numerous print and online publications including The New York Times, The Chicago Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Hyperallergic, Art F City, The Huffington Post, L Magazine, Whitehot Magazine, Two Coats of Paint, Artinfo, Artnet News, Beautiful Decay, and the artblog. Tiger Strikes Asteroid is a 501c3 federally tax-exempt non-profit arts organization.

Join us on Oct. 10 for the opening of Continuous Exchange, a solo exhibition of new works by artist Daniel Hojnacki. Co-curated by TSA Co-Director, Jaclyn Jacunski, and TSA Member, C. C. Ann Chen.

Exhibition Dates: October 10 - November 23, 2026

Opening Reception: Saturday, October 10, 1-4 PM

In Continuous Exchange, Daniel Hojnacki explores ways in which the photographic process can be used as an apparatus for observing the body and its spontaneous cyclical rhythms. Harnessing the volatile and vaporous elements of soot, frost and light, the works presented capture the body in states of transient elemental shift, using the photograph and experimental printing techniques as a conduit to poetically visualize the understated and overlooked.

We’re thrilled to announce that Tiger Strikes Asteroid has received a grant from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, supporting small-scale arts organizations doing vital work in their communities. This recognition means so much to us as an artist-run space with five galleries spanning New York City, Philadelphia, Chicago, Greenville SC, and Los Angeles.

TSA has been built by artists, for artists, and this support from the Warhol Foundation will help us keep pushing that mission forward, deepening our connections with the communities we call home and creating even more space for experimentation, risk-taking, and dialogue across our network.

We can’t wait to share what’s next. 🐯
