This fall we open three new exhibitions tied together by a question: how do the repeated actions we take—in a studio, during a ritual, or within a community—shape the beliefs we hold?

Natvar Bhavsar: Free Yourself — fifty years of color-field abstraction from a living legend of postwar American art. Sep 18, 2026–Apr 3, 2027 at UB Anderson Gallery. Presented jointly with the Buffalo AKG Art Museum.

Constructed Belief — four artists (Mara Baldwin, Ben Cowan, Nicki Green, Muhammad Z. Zaman) turn gesture into ritual, and ritual into art. Sep 24, 2026–Apr 24, 2027 @ UB CFA Gallery, First Floor.

🎸 Meet one of our performers! In 2009, Stephen Guerra left a career in finance to study music full-time — today he's one of the leading interpreters of Brazilian choro in the US, performing and teaching between New York and Rio de Janeiro.⁠
⁠
Stephen has played alongside some of the genre's most celebrated musicians, released two full-length albums, published sheet music with Mel Bay and Bergmann Editions, and teaches the choro ensemble right here at UB. He brings the Stephen Guerra Duo to Anderson Inside Out for an afternoon of warm, intricate Brazilian guitar.⁠
