We are excited to host Dozo My Lady on Wednesday, June 3!

Dozo My Lady is an exciting trio performing an eclectic mix of music focusing on jazz but equally proficient in pop, rock and bar room standards. This Buffalo New York trio was formed by Carolyn Lansom (vocals, percussion) and Dave Lansom (upright bass, vocals) in 2010 while living in Japan. Hence the use of the name Dozo. It is a Japanese word said when you hold the door open for someone. Dozo My Lady means, “Please go ahead, my lady”. With the addition of Greg Skulicz (guitar, vocals, melodica) in 2013 the group evolved into a consistently engaging, versatile act that is pleasing audiences across Western New York.

We are excited to announce another year of the Live on the Lawn concert series featuring local jazz musicians! This season is supported with a grant from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr Foundation Arts & Culture Initiative Micro Grant program.

There will be live music performances on June 3, July 8, and August 5. Each concert runs 6-8pm. Every month a local group of musicians will perform outdoors on the CAC’s spacious lawn. Dozo My Lady plays June 3, Earthband brings jazz fusion and video game themes from a jazz perspective on July 8, and Kathy Carr will be performing vocal jazz classics with her band on August 5. Guests are invited to bring chairs and picnics. There are a limited number of tables and chairs for use provided by the CAC. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors to the Rotunda Gallery.

General public admission tickets are $10. CAC Members are eligible for free tickets. Children under 10 are free. All funds generated are reinvested in the non-profits mission to provide robust arts programming in Western New York.
