✈️ The Blue Angels are taking flight! 💙💛
This weekend, the Blue Angels will take to the skies for the Yellowstone International Airshow! But airshows are nothing new to Billings-Logan International Airport.
Since opening in 1928, the airport has hosted a number of exciting airshows, including the one pictured here in 1939!
This photograph shows spectators gathered for the June 3–4 Airshow at the Municipal Airport, now known as Billings-Logan International Airport. According to The Billings Times in May 1939, spectators were treated to aerial stunts, along with contests where pilots dropped 10-pound flour bombs onto targets and even burst gas balloons with their airplane propellers! 🎈
Nearly 90 years later, the skies over Billings are still putting on a show. This weekend’s Yellowstone International Airshow is expected to bring more than 30,000 spectators to watch the incredible performances!
