A forgotten World War II military vehicle has been discovered deep beneath the waters of Lake Garda, Italy, nearly 80 years after it vanished during a dangerous wartime mission. The rust-covered amphibious truck, known as a “Duck,” was found resting at a depth of around 600 feet (180 meters) after sonar technology and underwater exploration revealed its hidden location. The vehicle was linked to a tragic 1945 crossing by the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division, where a violent storm sank the truck and left 24 servicemen missing.
