Fashion as Sculpture is back with a new semester focused on Fashion in Motion. 🧵🪡🧥

Led by Paris Fashion Week alum and Benton Harbor native Candace Caldwell, alongside Oalliyah Hornes and Louann Martin, students will explore fashion design through sewing, construction, creative challenges, and hands-on experimentation inspired by the sculptural legacy of Richard Hunt.

Students will bring their ideas to life and showcase their completed designs in a public fashion exhibition at the end of the semester.

The doors are closer to opening! 🚪

We want to keep our community updated on our renovations, and this is a BIG one. In addition to our recent upgrades of ADA-compliant ramps and railings at both entrances, Richard Hunt Studio Center now has beautiful new doors thanks to Pearson Construction, Midwest Glass, and TERA Architects.

Each improvement brings us one step closer to opening our doors to the community!

FASHION AS SCULPTURE 🧥🪡🧵

This fall, Fashion as Sculpture returns to Hunt Studio! This free afterschool program invites students in grades 9–12 to explore fashion design, creativity, and confidence while creating avant-garde couture inspired by Richard Hunt’s techniques and legacy. Lead by Ms. Candace Caldwell.

We had a great time today at the 5th annual 4th Ward Resource Fair handing out take-home art activities with kids donated by Michael’s Benton Harbor. Check out these coloring pages our young artist did of Richard Hunt’s Book Bird (which is on display at Obama Foundation library).

Thank you to Ethel Clark Griffin and all the vendors for putting on this event for the community. It was great for us to talk about Hunt Studio and the awesome programs to come like Fashion as Sculpture (free for high school students-link in bio).

Join us on Saturday, September 12, as we celebrate Bryan Joseph and the legacy of Richard Hunt with a special evening in Benton Harbor.

The evening begins at 5:30 PM with a dinner celebration at Houndstooth Restaurant with Chef Cheyenne Galbraith, followed by an 8:30 PM champagne toast at the Richard Hunt Studio Center.

Bryan recently joined the Richard Hunt Studio Center Board of Directors, and we are excited to celebrate this next chapter alongside Richard Hunt’s enduring legacy of art, community, and creativity.

Tickets are $250 per guest and space is limited.
