We are thrilled to announce our next exhibition “LIT” featuring LoVid, Luke Murphy and Erwin Redl. All of whom have exhibited with Marquee Projects in the past.
The interdisciplinary artist duo LoVid - comprising Tali Hinkis and Kyle Lapidus - brings together video, sound, textiles, electronics, and handmade technologies. Their work (detail video pictured here) examines the intersections of digital culture and physical experience, often embracing distortion, imperfection, and the unexpected. Within LIT, LoVid will present abstract and figurative experimental videos on flat-screen displays that explore technological materiality and mediated perception.
Luke Murphy extends the exhibition’s investigation of light and space through a practice that loosens the idea of a screen and the kinds of color joy that can be elicited from programming. At the same time, a haunting awareness of the fragility and tenuousness of the systems and technologies at play is ever present.
Known for his immersive light installations, Erwin Redl explores the relationship between technology, architecture, and the human body. His precisely orchestrated fields of light and color transform physical space into dynamic environments, creating experiences that are at once minimal, atmospheric, and deeply perceptual.
