May 23rd at 8 PM at ATHICA

Ihlyatt. Josh Anderssen is an audiovisual artist based in Athens GA, creating atmospheric and textural work based around ambient music and VHS technology. He releases music and performs under the name Ihlyatt.

Drone Tomorrow constructs immersive electronic environments that blur the line between sound and space—moving through ambient drift, industrial tension, and cyberpunk-inspired atmospheres.

With a foundation in formal music training from Anderson University (SC), his work bridges academic composition and raw sonic experimentation.

From punk basements to classical halls to abstract electronic realms, Drone Tomorrow pulls from a lifetime of musical exploration to create performances that feel less like concerts and more like places you’ve wandered into—and aren’t sure how to leave.

The Store is an industrial harsh noise project that combines butchered guitar textures with raw distortion, under a blanket of ambient decay. It’s not meant to be listened to, but endured. An endless valley of soundscapes that demand you completely surrender your mind and body entirely.

ATHICA Ambient Music Hour

Craig Colorusso (Arkansas, also performing at the High Museum on the 16th)

Craig Colorusso’s music and performances are immersive, durational experiences that unfold slowly, inviting deep listening and reflection. Using bowed electric guitar, bass clarinet, and electronics, he creates layered, harmonic sound environments that emphasize repetition, tone, and subtle change over time. His performances often blur the line between concert and installation, allowing audiences to move freely within the sound. Rooted in minimalism and influenced by natural rhythms, his work encourages heightened awareness, shared presence, and a sense of calm. Each performance becomes a space for contemplation, where sound shapes perception and transforms the surrounding environment.

Craig will be performing Army of Chainsaws For Brian Kelly.

Salmon Tubes (Kyle MacKinnel and Jon Vogt)

Salmon Tubes is an electro-acoustic improvisation duo from Athens, Georgia, made up of Kyle MacKinnel and Jon Vogt. To date, they have collaborated visually and musically as members of Sonic Divination and Brooms of Fantasia. Their separate evolving music endeavours have included frog like leaf, CALL, come, Oceanic Sound Research, Solution Cave, and Dark Wale. Salmon Tubes represents the expression of multiple instruments (salmon) carried electronically through a narrow system of tubes (a heavily processed signal path) used to bridge here to there across massive dams of intelligible thought and understanding, effectively transporting nature through the built environment back upstream and back into dream.
