This we are grateful for any support you can give to the Amagansett Station and our educational endeavors.

Support for the Amagansett Station, its community education efforts, and continued preservation comes entirely from the generosity of our members, neighbors, and friends like you. A fully volunteer-run organization, we hosted several programs and events during the year, including visits from 2,000 students in kindergarten through college, organized by our Education Committee.

Looking ahead, we are striving to build a seaworthy replica of the Beebe surfboat to have ocean demonstrations and further educate residents and visitors about how the U.S. Life-Saving Service effected search-and-rescue operations.

At the Amagansett Station, we are looking ahead to an exciting 2023 filled with educational initiatives and fun-filled events for the community! A special Thank-You to our docents for making this year such a success and so beautifully sharing our piece of local history: Douglas Haak, Marika O'Doherty, Dennis Curles, Russell Stein, and Bob Marshall. Enjoy this videotaping of our commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the interception of the saboteurs. A staged reading of firsthand accounts of Coast Guard personnel on duty when the saboteurs came ashore, including dialogue from the encounter on the beach between saboteur George Dasch and Seaman John Cullen. The reading took the form of a 1940s-style radio broadcast titled “Cavalcade of America,” produced and directed by Hugh King, who presided, together with Elena Prohaska Glinn, Ted Hults, Sonny Sireci, David Cataletto, and Isabel Carmichael. Videotaped at the Amagansett U.S. Life-Saving & Coast Guard Station.
