On Wednesdays, we dive into ART! This week's focus: "The In Between" by LadyJennD
Mounted on cradled wood, our early 1900s film star's hooded eyes, dark lips, and perfect skin create a mask of perfection, but with a dose of *ennui*. Her inner world is so rich, and in between takes and martinis, in between the demands of beauty and industry, the life within can't help but sprout. The centered butterfly tickles at her third eye, reminding us that change is inevitable and can be glorious. Every living thing connected to our heroine is allowed such vitality, is allowed to open with sharp leaves, fluttering petals, and even the spikes of cacti.
Flowers are delicate, but they push themselves up and through the most unlikely places ... small triangles at the bottom corners act as tiny garden patches, directing our attention to what cannot be contained in the work of art, what cannot be contained in any one work or person ...
We might be interrupting her moment, we-as-viewer might be come between the inner and outer world - and don't we do that all the time? Interrupt the people we love and catch glimpses of who they are undisturbed?

Why do we sell art at Soft Corners?
Because our founder LOVES art. "The first thing I did when I got a little money," says, "is buy art." Supporting artists is among the best ways to create the world we want to live in while creating the spaces we can thrive in. Let us be your first step toward
