In this inaugural episode of our new series, Highlights from the Hall of Fame, Chairman Al Pickett is showcasing museum memorabilia that museum guests always find interesting and memorable.

This week, Al elaborates on one of our most cherished pieces - Bob Lilly's NFL Hall of Fame jacket. Lilly, who is from Throckmorton, played for America's Team for 14 seasons and is known as "Mr. Cowboy." He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1980 and was a 7-time First Team All-NFL selection as the cornerstone of the Cowboys' "Doomsday Defense."

Come see this special piece in person at the Big Country Athletic Hall of Fame Museum. We're located in the Mall of Abilene next to JC Penney.

Last weekend, the Big Country FCA All-Star Weekend took place in Abilene, and for this week's Hall of Fame Facts, Chairman Al Pickett shares some of the connections between the event and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations to all that took part in the weekend!

Also, if you're looking for a way to beat the heat this week, come visit the Museum where the A/C is cool and Big Country sports history is on display.

On this week's Hall of Fame Facts, Al is highlighting the incomparable Wes Kittley.
A Rule native and 2006 Hall of Fame inductee, Kittley was a state champion runner in high school and was an all-American at ACU before venturing in to coaching. He became the Head Track and Field Coach at Texas Tech in 2000. Kittley has won two national championships with the Red Raiders and coached 37 NCAA champions during his tenure in Lubbock.

We're thrilled to celebrate the legacy and impact of Kittley here at the Big Country Athletic Hall of Fame as he enters his 27th year at Texas Tech. We'd love for you to come visit us this week and learn even more about Kittley and all of our impressive inductees.

Happy Memorial Day! On this week's Hall of Fame Facts, we're wrapping up our 5-part series looking back at our inaugural class of inductees from 2002. We celebrated our 25th anniversary last month, and thought it would be fitting to look back at our first incredible class of inductees.
This week, Al shines a spotlight on the only Big Country native to don a coveted green jacket, Charles Coody. A Stamford native, Coody won the Masters Tournament in 1971 and is a 3-time PGA Tour winner.
You can learn even more about all of our inductees by visiting our Museum, located next to JC Penney in the Mall of Abilene, or visiting our website.
