STORAGE มีความยินดีนำเสนอ ‘Unfinished Is Not the Same as Abandoned’ บทหนึ่งของนิทรรศการ Ageless, Ageless ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการค้นคว้าต่อเนื่องระยะยาวของ Shimmer เพื่อสำรวจปรากฏการณ์ทางวัฒนธรรมที่เชื่อมโยงพวกเราเข้าด้วยกันข้ามผ่านกาลเวลาและพื้นที่ ผลงานทั้งหมดในนิทรรศการครั้งนี้ต่างตกอยู่ในสภาวะอันเปราะบางของการเปลี่ยนแปลง ความไม่เสร็จสิ้นมิใช่สิ่งเดียวกับการถูกละทิ้ง หากแต่ความไม่เสร็จสิ้นนั้นหมายถึงการที่พวกเราได้ผูกพันตนเองเข้ากับความสัมพันธ์แห่งความแปรเปลี่ยน “จงก้าวไปข้างหน้าก่อนการพรากจากทั้งปวง ราวกับว่ามันได้เกิดขึ้นแล้ว” Rainer Maria Rilke เคยบอกพวกเราไว้ “ความไร้ตัวตนภายในตัวคุณ จะอนุญาตให้คุณได้สั่นสะเทือน และสะท้อนก้องอย่างเต็มเปี่ยมไปพร้อมกับโลกของคุณ จงใช้มันดูสักครั้ง”

STORAGE is pleased to announce ‘Unfinished Is Not the Same as Abandoned’, an exhibition chapter of Ageless, Ageless, Shimmer’s expansive multi-year study of cultural phenomena that connect us across time and space. All the works in this show are in precarious states of change. Unfinished is not the same as abandoned. Unfinished means we are bound into a relationship with change. “Be ahead of all parting, as if it had already happened,” Rilke told us. “The non-being inside you allows you to vibrate, in full resonance with your world. Use it for once.”

กานต์ธิดา บุษบา เป็นคนทำงานศิลปะที่แนวการทำงานเคลื่อนไปมาระหว่างตัวบทและพื้นที่ ระหว่างคำพูดและการพิมพ์รวมไปถึงท่าทีร่วมกันในเชิงปฏิบัติ เธอให้ความสนใจกับพลวัตที่ผันแปรได้ของขอบเขตการทำงานศิลปะ อันเป็นพื้นที่ของความคิดที่ปฏิเสธการนิ่งเฉยและที่แห่งการต่อต้านได้ค่อยๆ ก่อตัวขึ้นมา การทำงานของเธอมักจะสำรวจว่าชีวิตได้ถูกหล่อหลอมด้วยเงื่อนไขทางเศรษฐกิจและการเมืองอย่างไร วิธีที่อำนาจถูกทักถอขึ้นมา รวมไปถึงการแบ่งปันองค์ความรู้ในหลากหลายรูปแบบ ผ่านงานพิมพ์ โปรแกรมสาธารณะ และการทำนิทรรศการ

About the curator: Kantida Busaba

Kantida Busaba is an art practitioner who is drawn to the textual and the spatial, the spoken, the printed, and collective gestures as well as the shifting edges of artistic practice, where ideas resist fixation and forms of quiet resistance emerge. Her work explores how lives are shaped by economic and political conditions, and how power is articulated and knowledge might be shared otherwise through publishing, public programming, and exhibition-making.

She currently serves as Public Program Curator at BANGKOK CITYCITY GALLERY and is a member of GMT+, a multidisciplinary art collective based in Thailand.

คณิช ขจรศรี ศิลปินจากกรุงเทพมหานคร มีความสนใจในเรื่องของพื้นที่ ขอบเขต และความทับซ้อนระหว่างพื้นที่ จากการสังเกตพื้นที่ต่างๆในกรุงเทพฯ ได้สังเกตุถึงความคลุมเครือที่เกิดขึ้นจากการทับซ้อนกันระหว่างความเป็นพื้นที่ส่วนตัวกับพื้นที่สาธารณะ นำมาสู่จุดเริ่มต้นพัฒนาแนวคิดเกี่ยวกับพื้นที่ที่มีคลุมเครือ และวิธีที่พื้นที่ถูกจัดแจงและสร้างการรับรู้ตามบริบทของพื้นที่นั้นๆ ระหว่างพื้นที่ส่วนตัวและพื้นที่สาธารณะ

ปัจจุบัน คณิชสนใจในความหมายคลุมเคลือซึ่งหลอมรวม หรือสิงสถิต ซ่อนอยู่ในวัสดุและวัตถุในฐานะสื่อกลางของอำนาจและอิทธิพล รวมถึง “ความคลุมเคลือของพื้นที่” — การซ้อนทับของสถานที่และภูมิทัศน์ที่ถูกสร้างขึ้นผ่านบริบท การเล่าเรื่อง ความสัมพันธ์ทางสังคม และการรับรู้ที่ผู้คนซึ่งมีปฏิสัมพันธ์กับพื้นที่นั้นเชื่อถือและยึดถือ ภายใต้ความสงสัยที่มีต่อองค์ประกอบเหล่านี้ที่หล่อหลอมภูมิทัศน์ทั้งในเชิงกายภาพและนามธรรม ที่ทับถมจนกลายเป็นภูมิทัศน์หรือสถานที่ที่เรารู้จักและเข้าใจในปัจจุบัน

About the artist: Kanich Khajohnsri

Bangkok-based artist Kanich Khajohnsri is always interested in space, demarcations, and overlaps between spaces. Through observations in Bangkok, he noticed the ambiguity resulting from the overlap between private space ownership and public spaces. Kanich initially developed the idea of ambiguous space and how spaces are configured and perceived in response to their context.

Currently interested in how materials and objects hold ambiguous meanings and operate as mediums of authority and power, as well as in the “ambiguity of space” — how places and landscapes become layered through context, narrative, social relations, and the perceived meanings of those who engage with them.

เดือนวาด พิมวนา นามปากกาของพิมใจ จูกลิ่น นักเขียนที่อาศัยอยู่ในชลบุรี เมืองติดทะเลฝั่งตะวันออก เธอมีผลงานเขียนหลายรูปแบบซึ่งครอบคลุมถึงเรื่องสั้น บทกวี นวนิยาและวรรณกรรมผสมผสานหลายแนว งานเขียนของเธอได้รับรางวัลทั้งจาก สมาคมภาษาและหนังสือแห่งประเทศไทยในพระบรมราชูปถัมภ์ นิตยสารวรรณกรรม ช่อการะเกด และรางวัลซีไรต์ในปี 2546 จากผลงานเรื่อง ช่างสำราญ ซึ่งได้รับการแปลเป็นภาษาอังกฤษโดย มุ่ย-เลิศหล้า ภู่พกสกุล ในชื่อ Bright ตีพิมพ์กับสำนักพิมพ์ Two Lines Press ในปี 2562

ประกาย ปรัชญา เป็นกวีพอๆ กับที่เขาเป็นนักอ่าน เขาเร่ิมต้นเขียนกวีมาตั้งแต่ชั้นมัธยมต้นยังคงเขียนอยู่เช่นนั้นจนถึงตอนนี้ ประกายเติบโตมาในช่วงที่มวลความรุนแรงทางการเมืองยังคงดำเนินอยู่ซึ่งรวมไปถึงเหตุการณ์ 6 ตุลาฯ ประสบการณ์ในตอนนั้นผลักให้เขาลงมือทำงานเขียนเรื่อยมา ประกายอาศัยและทำงานอยู่ในชลบุรี

About the artist: Duanwad Pimwana and Praguy Prachya

Duanwad Pimwana is the pen name of Pimjai Juklin, an author who lives in Chonburi, Thailand’s eastern seaside city. She writes in various forms, including short stories, poetry, novellas, and cross-genre fiction. Her works have received awards from PEN International Thailand, the Thai literary magazine Chorkaraket, and, in 2003, the S.E.A. Write Award for her novel Changsamran, translated into English by Mui Poopoksakul as Bright (Two Lines Press, 2019).

Praguy Prachya is as much a poet as he is a devoted reader, having honed his craft since junior high school and continuing to write poetry today. He came of age during a period of political violence, including in the shadow of the October 6 Massacre, experiences that compelled him to put pen to paper. He lives and works in Chonburi.

Pasuth Sa-ingthong is a Bangkok-based multidisciplinary artist and visual alchemist. He creates artworks that explore abstract textures while delving deep into the intricate connections between the physical and digital realms. His fascination with fractal structures, combined with his work with particles,which reflects the complex dynamics and movements of his surroundings, serves as a profound influence that adds depth to his exploration of these themes. About the artist: Ryan Lim Zi Yi

Ryan Lim Zi Yi is a Singapore-based artist. His practice revolves around searching for the extraordinary within the unspectacular, revealing the overlooked as something tender and worth remembering. He choreographs these moments with narratives that explore memory, identity, reality and fiction. His work unfolds across photography, video, sculpture, text and installation.

Lim's works have been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Singapore and internationally, including Carp Gallery (Taiwan), Plague Space (Russia), and LivingRoom (Netherlands); and Whitestone Gallery, Art Outreach, I_S_L_A_N_D_S, Temporary Unit, DECK, Objectifs, Comma Space, and Starch in Singapore.

In addition to his practice as an artist, Lim currently runs BACKYARD, a subscription-based publication housing artists reports of happenings and news around Singapore. His curatorial projects also include Robin (2022-2023), a series of exhibitions presented in camping tents pitched in various locations across Singapore.

STORAGE is pleased to present Off-sight, a group exhibition featuring works by Ryan Lim Zi Yi, Elaine W. Ho, Pasuth Sa-ingthong, Duanwad Pimwana and Praguy Prachya, and Kanich Kajohnsri, curated by Kantida Busaba.

Bringing together works previously shown across different times and contexts alongside newly commissioned pieces, the exhibition responds to the conditions, limits, and possibilities of space and language. The selected works are connected through a persistent attention to rough surfaces, layered traces, humour embedded within rigidity, and forms of resistance shaped through the act of living.

In confronting circumstances that may exceed expectation and emerge at any moment, how might we sustain the capacity to adjust, negotiate, and respond to uncertainty?

ลมๆแล้งๆ/ plain·song เสนอสิ่งไร้เสียงและสิ่งที่ถูกทำให้เงียบ ในรูปแบบของจินตภาพแห่งการต่อต้าน พร้อมตั้งคำถามต่อข้อเรียกร้องและแรงจูงใจในการทำให้ขอบเขตของความเงียบส่งเสียงดังและมองเห็นได้ ความหลากหลายของสื่อที่นำเสนอในนิทรรศการนี้อยู่ร่วมกันเพื่อจินตนาการถึงระบบโน้ตภาพเชิงทดลองรูปแบบหนึ่งที่ซึ่งร่างกายของผู้ชมได้เข้ามามีส่วนร่วมทั้งในเชิงแนวคิดและกายภาพทั่วทั้งพื้นที่ของแกลเลอรี่ ผ่านการรับฟังและร่วมบรรเลงบทเพลงที่ไม่อาจได้ยินได้ นิทรรศการปลุกเร้าสิ่งที่มองไม่เห็นและไม่ได้ยิน มิใช่ในฐานะของความนิ่งเฉื่อยหรือความเพิกเฉย แต่ในฐานะโน้ตเพลงแห่งความสมานฉันท์และการปรับจูนเข้าหากันอย่างเงียบเชียบ

ลมๆแล้งๆ/ plain·song proposes the unsound and the silenced as imaginative modes of resistance, questioning the demands and motives in making quiet realms loud and transparent. The variety of media presented in the exhibition coexist to imagine a kind of experimental graphic notation, in which the audience’s body engages conceptually and physically throughout the gallery space in the listening and playing of an inaudible composition. The exhibition evokes the unseen and the unheard, not as forms of inertia nor passivity, but as a possible score of solidarity and a quiet attunement.
