artcommune gallery | 集菁艺社 很高興宣布將參與 ART TAIPEI 台北國際藝術博覽會 2026，展期為10月30日至11月2日，地點位於台北世界貿易中心展覽一館。

集菁藝社首度參展 ART TAIPEI，將帶來五位新加坡藝術家的作品，包括巫思遠 Boo Sze Yang (b. 1965)、鍾泗濱 Cheong Soo Pieng (b. 1917– d. 1983)、譚鈞元 Tam Kwan Yuen (b 1986)、王瑾 Wong Keen (b. 1942) 及楊國勝 Nathan Yong (b. 1971)。

本次展出匯集了不同世代的藝術家，他們皆秉持著勇於實驗與創新的精神，透過對色彩、形式與媒材的探索，不斷突破既有界限，開拓藝術表現的更多可能性。

artcommune gallery | 集菁艺社 is pleased to announce our participation in ART TAIPEI 台北國際藝術博覽會 2026, which takes place from 30 October - 2 November 2026 at Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1.

artcommune’s inaugural presentation at ART TAIPEI 2026 features works by Singapore artists Boo Sze Yang 巫思遠 (b. 1965), Cheong Soo Pieng 鍾泗濱 (b. 1917–d. 1983), Tam Kwan Yuen 譚鈞元 (b. 1986), Wong Keen 王瑾 (b. 1942) and Nathan Yong 楊國勝 (b. 1971). The showcase brings together artists from different generations who share a spirit of experimentation and reinvention, each pushing the boundaries of colour, form and material to forge new possibilities for artistic expression.

🪞 Mirror Straits | Installation View

Two tropical islands, Taiwan and Singapore, each shaped by many cultures but split by different colonial and postwar paths, and so by different memories. The gallery read like a conversation between two sides.

Bringing four Singaporean artists, Cheong Soo Pieng, Chen Wen Hsi, Tan Choh Tee and Wong Keen, into dialogue with Taiwan's postwar art scene, the Taipei presentation features works by Yuyu Yang and Chu Wei-Bor, alongside Chin Jun-Tso and Chen Ching-Jung.

"Two months ago, I went to Pulau Ubin to sketch. The island still preserves the kampong atmosphere and sense of place that I remember from childhood. Old attap and zinc houses, the salty sea breeze, and traces of people and places touched by time bring back memories and a deep sense of belonging.

On a summer afternoon, an old wooden house reveals its weathered textures in the shifting light. A large umbrella, a glimpse of a red dress, and a few quiet tables and chairs capture a small fragment of everyday life.

Through awareness and contemplation, I look at the scene through a kind of “memory viewing.” What I see is both Pulau Ubin as it is now and the Nanyang that still lingers in my memory. For a moment, the present and the past overlap, leaving a quiet, unspoken aftertaste."

“I’ve been to Chinatown many times, but never noticed some of these details before.”

A reflection from one of our participants at ‘Walking into Chinatown: Art in Situ’ and a fitting reminder of how a familiar place can feel different when we take the time to look more closely.

As ‘Textures of Longing and Belonging’ comes to a close today, we’d like to thank everyone who joined us on the walks and visited the exhibition✨

🪞 Mirror Straits 镜之海峡 has been featured in 典藏 ARTouch, one of Taiwan’s established art publications, in an article exploring the interconnected artistic histories of Taiwan and Singapore.

In the feature, Mr. Ho Sou Ping, Founder of artcommune gallery, reflects on how Tan Choh Tee’s paintings of Singapore’s disappearing streets and traditional markets preserve memories of the city’s transformation. His Dihua Street (Taiwan) (1992) offers another perspective on the artist’s practice, capturing the everyday streetscape of Taiwan through the eyes of a Singaporean artist.

Beyond bringing together works by Taiwanese and Singaporean artists, the exhibition invites audiences to revisit their shared histories and consider how artistic encounters across geographical boundaries continue to shape our understanding of both regions.
