Now the museum has moved to Nova Arena! A big thank you to everyone who attended the opening of Saab Car Museum's exhibition The Box at on Sweden’s National Day, Saturday, June 6! 🙏
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our partners, Trestads Veteranbilklubb and the Trollhättan section of Svenska Saabklubben, whose members volunteered as parking attendants during the event.
While visitors arrived at Innovatum District in their beautiful cars, the final preparations were being completed inside Nova Arena. The local scout troop were setting out hot dogs and pastries, while Svenska Saabklubben was stocking its tent with a variety of products from the club’s shop.
The first thing that greeted the more than 600 visitors was Ursaaben – the very first Saab ever built – now prominently displayed on a podium just inside the entrance. Beyond it stretches a vast collection of 115 cars, led by a striking red formation of five red vehicles, with a 1969 Saab 99 taking the lead.
Once again, we were reminded of just how special the Saab community is. Among our visitors were guests who had traveled from as far away as Australia, Canada, Germany, Portugal and Norway. We hope that everyone who made the trip to Trollhättan that day was satisfied with the goal of the trip.
Former Saab employee Paul Åkerlund, representing the museum’s owner, Trollhättans Stad, gave a brief speech. Instead of cutting a ribbon, he inaugurated the exhibition’s viewing platform by taking a selfie with all the cars and visitors in the background.
We now hope that even more visitors will discover the museum’s new premises during the summer, allowing more people to experience this unique exhibition that will be shown everyday (except midsummer and midsummer day, June 19–20) 10:00–17:00 until September 30.
If you share photos from your visit on social media, please tag Saab Car Museum so we can help spread the word about The Box together.
Once again thanks for supporting Saab Car Museum and the Saab heritage!
