Why do museums leave so much space around art? 🖼️
Because sometimes, what surrounds an artwork is just as important as the artwork itself.
Negative space gives us room to pause, observe, and connect. It allows each piece to breathe, draws attention to details we might otherwise overlook, and shapes the way we experience art.
From the distance between works to the way light falls across a gallery, every decision influences how we see, feel, and interpret what’s in front of us.
Good curation isn’t just about what you choose to display. It’s also about knowing what to leave out.
Because art deserves more than a wall. It deserves space to speak.
What do you think — do you prefer a minimalist gallery or a space filled with art?
