Orange Project is one tangible contribution towards the elevation of art consciousness in the island of Negros. Its mission is both simple and complex. It is expanding creative potentials in a flexible space that has blossomed into an art hub. It is exploration, collaboration, explosion, reflection, and crossed-discipline.

Women taking the spotlight in the arts didn’t happen overnight.

This Women’s History Month, we celebrate these moments that have helped reshape the history of the arts.

These are the women—pioneers and generations of artists, curators, and cultural workers—who works for their place in the industry. Their efforts have helped shape the Orange Project into what it is today, and we equally acknowledge those who paved the way in the years before them.

There is still much to be done to improve women’s representation at all levels of culture and the arts. While March gives us a moment to celebrate, recognition should not be confined to a single month.

On this last day of Women’s Month, let us take time to recognize these women—and all the women in our lives—whose presence and contributions continue to shape our communities. And as we move forward, we hope to continue honoring women across all sectors—acknowledging their roles as forces that can ignite ideas, build connections, and create meaningful change. 💜

A big thank you to everyone who took the time to join us last Sunday as we opened “Flesh, Decay, Maggots and Honey” and “Paa sa Lupa.”

Your presence, especially amid the ongoing global crises, meant more than just attendance. It was an act of care and intention.

Both exhibitions reflect on these very conditions: on slow violence, on systems under strain, on bodies and environments pushed to their limits, and on the quiet and persistent ways we endure. In “Flesh, Decay, Maggots and Honey” we are asked to confront cycles of consumption and collapse; in “Paa sa Lupa,” we are reminded of grounding, memory, and the fragile yet steady act of holding on.

For spending time with the community, for being present, and for continuing to believe in the power of art to reflect, question, and connect, thank you.

“Flesh, Decay, Maggots and Honey,” a group exhibition by Burog Alvarado, Roedil “Joe” Geraldo, Minh Meo, and Mikiboy Pama, and “Paa sa Lupa,” a group exhibition by Marionne Contreras, Ryoji Morimoto, and Tekla Tamoria are on view until June 27, 2026. Keep tagging us in your posts and stories!
