Wim Warrink
ZUNNEKLAORTE
Sunday, June 21
Experience the summer solstice in Wim Warrink's open-air laboratory!
“Zunneklaorte” is a sequel to Wim Warrink’s ‘Tweeduuster’, which took place on December 21, 2025.
Which physical phenomena influence the landscape experience and contribute to an emotional experience?
To get a grip on the summer solstice of the Grasland Ezinge landscape, Wim Warrink has conducted many experiments with light, time, space, and distance. With his self-made (measuring) instruments, sunlight is captured and bent, and time is intercepted on this longest day.
Join in to create the phenomena together and experience their mystery. There are special time catchers such as the DIY sundial (for this day only). There is a Noon Cannon to capture every hour with a bang and a mini rainbow. Clay runners from Groningen join in the action. A large solar telescope projects the sun onto paper and reveals the nuances of its surface. There is a glass object and water lenses of all kinds to demonstrate ‘far-sightedness’ yourself.
Zunneklaorte is a contemporary inspiration based on Galileo (“and yet it rotates”).
Accessible to everyone; choose your own moment between 10 am and 5 pm.
There are snacks, refreshments and shade.
