Kazerne is een internationaal podium en thuis voor de creatieve industrie in het hart van designstad Eindhoven. In een voormalige marechausseekazerne en aangrenzende loods komen de werelden van kunst, design, kennis en techniek letterlijk samen met goed eten en drinken. Hier genieten spontane én doelgerichte gasten van state of the art presentaties en exposities. Hier ontmoeten creatieven van over

de hele wereld elkaar en hun opdrachtgevers, het hele jaar door. Ontmoeten (Meet). Dat samen is Kazerne. Kazerne is an international podium and home for the creative industries in the heart of the design city of Eindhoven. In a former military police barracks and the adjoining warehouse the worlds of art, design, knowledge and technique literally come together with good food and drinks. Here both spontaneous and intentional visitors are able to enjoy state-of-the-art presentations and exhibitions. Here, creatives from around the world meet each other and their clients all year round. Here new concepts are developed in crossover labs. Presentation (Expo). Creation (Lab). Coming together (Meet). That is Kazerne.

What actually happens to our waste when we throw it “away”? Meet Da Trash Club ( )—winners of the Kazerne Design Award 2026!

Their project, The Trashifesto, turns the socio-ecological crisis of consumerism into speculative storytelling, wild dance, and costumes made entirely from waste. Through the eyes of Candy (a discarded piece of candy), they smash the myth that trash ever truly disappears!

What if waste doesn’t truly disappear when we throw it away? 🍬 Join us at Kazerne during DE OPENING (DE OPENING) for One Ticket to the Away—an energetic, humorous performance by Da Trash Club (DA TRASH CLUB)!

Follow Candy, a discarded piece of candy and TikTok sensation, as she livestreams her wild journey across landfills to find her lost mother, Wrapper. Through dance, wild waste-crafted costumes, and lively storytelling, this show dismantles the myth that trash ever truly disappears.

Turning shipping containers into local farms? 🌱 Meet Kazerne Design Award 2026 nominee Benjamin Onno Dikmans ()!

Can a forgotten material from the past replace modern plastic? Meet Valentin Dugrais (), nominated for the Kazerne Design Award 2026!

In Crinem Equus, Valentin revives forgotten historical techniques to challenge modern furniture norms. By replacing hidden plastic cushioning with raw, resilient horsehair, he creates a piece that completely transforms how we sit.

What if the material under your feet was actually meant for the open sea? 🛶

Meet Gad Lomholt Nimér (), nominated for the Kazerne Design Award 2026!

We all know linoleum as flat, standard flooring, but its main ingredient (linseed oil) was used for centuries to waterproof sails and ships. In his project Lovely Lino, Gad takes linoleum back to its maritime roots by using it to clad the hull of a hand-built boat!

By challenging the industry’s obsession with cheap, fast mass production, Gad reveals the structural, water-repellent, and 3D potential of materials we completely take for granted.
