SUPERLOCAL - 0 miles production Daily life objects, local workshops and classes.

Even though automation and virtual realities are raising, we explore the world.

We want to reclaim the human relationships, the connection with the context and the feelings towards the material world and the craftsmanship. We go for the exploration, being independent, brave, authentic, honest and free. We refuse authorities and grids. Being pioneers, we are always seeking for beauty. It is more like a tendency than a destination. It connects soul and body, aesthetic and intimate, moral and material worlds. It is our catalyst for change.




SUPERLOCAL 0, miles production invites the people to explore the world of local production by learning and making. We design new production scenarios for daily life objects. Production happens not just to maximize efficiency but it addresses environmental and social viability. We bring design, production and education into one methodology developed during the last three years. We organize local productions, production tours and lecturers in order to teach to the public how daily life products are made. In this way, production becomes a way of learning and to support participation. Together with various institution such as the Design Academy Eindhoven (NL) EDHV365 Studio (NL) the University of Bolzano (IT) the Design Museum (UK) and Z33 (BE), we organize hands-on workshops to immerse the visitors into a production experience and make them learn how to make products while getting to know a specific geographic area. The production area taken into consideration is always within a bike ride distance (2.5 km). We believe in the power of networks as new generators of economic and social value. At SUPERLOCAL, together with an international community of craftsmen, design studios, students and organizations, we believe that understanding the production encourages a more sustainable evolution.

Il Festival dell’Architettura di Roma — FAR26, ideato e realizzato dall’Ordine degli Architetti PPC di Roma e provincia, lancia DESIGN DISTRICT ESQUILINO.

Le vetrine di Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II si trasformano in spazi dedicati al design contemporaneo, ospitando una selezione di pezzi della scuola romana, a cura di Alessandro Gorla. Un percorso diffuso nel Rione, realizzato in collaborazione con Accademia Costume & Moda e con le attività culturali e commerciali dell’Esquilino.

Andrea de Chirico è nato e vive a Roma. Ha un Master in Social Design ottenuto alla Design Academy di Eindhoven e un BA in Disegno Industriale all’ISIA di Roma. Ricerca e esplora come il contesto, i materiali e i processi produttivi possano, in contatto con le persone, incoraggiare un cambiamento e uno sviluppo nella fruizione di oggetti di uso quotidiano. Il suo lavoro è stato esposto in fiere e gallerie internazionali di design tra cui il London Design Museum, la Triennale di Milano, Z33 House of Contemporary Art in Belgio e Urban Matters Shangai.

SUPERLOCAL GARBATELLA - ROMA SUD 2024-26

Dal 2015, ADC Studio sviluppa una metodologia per progettare oggetti della vita quotidiana, connettendo artigiani locali e materiali a scala di quartiere. Dopo essere stato sperimentato in oltre sette quartieri europei, il progetto entra ora in una nuova fase a Garbatella. Condivideranno i primi risultati della ricerca sul quartiere, le facciate e gli elementi decorativi. Questi studi si traducono in una serie di oggetti d’uso quotidiano realizzati con un materiale speciale sviluppato dallo studio, a base di carta riciclata proveniente dal quartiere.
