Tomorrow evening, S(P)OIL opens at COVA.

Join us on Friday 16 October from 19:00 for the opening of Martin Kačmarek’s solo exhibition.

Dutch Design Week starts the following day and runs from Saturday 17 to Sunday 25 October. During DDW, COVA will be open every day from 11:00 to 18:00.

Come by, take your time with the works, and experience S(P)OIL in person.

On Friday 16 October, from 19:00, COVA opens S(P)OIL, the new solo exhibition by Martin Kačmarek, presented during Dutch Design Week 2026.

The exhibition brings together rural life, manual labour and digital culture in a visual leaded by contemporary alienation.

In dialogue with this year’s DDW theme, R.A.W. – Rebel Authentic Worth, S(P)OIL explores agricultural contexts and direct experience in an increasingly automated world.

Opening Friday 16 October, from 19:00 at COVA Art Gallery.

During Dutch Design Week 2026, COVA presents S(P)OIL, a solo exhibition by Martin Kačmarek.
Drawing from rural life, manual labour and digital culture, Kačmarek creates paintings where agriculture, gaming and contemporary alienation collide.

Rather than idealising the countryside, S(P)OIL looks at making, repairing and physical experience as ways of reconnecting with reality in an increasingly automated and mediated world.
