Join us on Thursday 22 October for the opening of the first museum solo exhibition of Lebanese photographer Myriam Boulos (), recipient of the 19th Foam Paul Huf Award. ⁠
⁠
The exhibition brings together an intimate and deeply personal body of work made in Boulos hometown of Beirut. Her photographs explore sexuality, desire and fantasy, while reflecting on the ways bodies and land are shaped by systems of power and oppression. ⁠
⁠
In 2026 Boulos photographed the campaign for Harry Styles for his Together, Together world tour. This first image was a part of this campaign. ⁠
⁠
The artist will be present at the opening, be among the first to experience her work at Foam.⁠
⁠

Now in its 17th edition, the biannual Foam Talent Programme continues to make waves by introducing a new selection of outstanding image-makers from across the globe. We sat down with all 15 Talents to talk about home, how their practice is evolving, and how their photographic process looks.⁠

Foam Talent Paola Jiménez Quispe is a photographer and archivist based in Lima, Peru. Her work revolves around memory and trauma, with a belief that individual stories reveal universal struggles. Jiménez works across various media, including photography, text, documents, video, and painting. ⁠

It provides a visual language through which local identities, social codes, family histories, and ideas of belonging can be expressed and shared. Clothing helps shape character, attitude and presence, while gestures and settings reveal how cultural references are worn, exchanged and reimagined. ⁠

Hailun Ma’s () commissions for commercial clients and her self-initiated projects are distinct and yet deeply interconnected. In work for clients, she brings the same attention to casting, gesture, styling, and location that shapes her personal practice. ⁠

On Thursday 1 October, we're celebrating a collaborative project between Foam and Middle East Archive, featuring two exhibitions in Amsterdam West (): one at creative space MAQAM (.amsterdam) and one at Mercatorplein. ⁠
⁠
At MAQAM, the exhibition titled Al Nisa / النساء brings together images of women from the MENA region and does not attempt to speak on their behalf. Instead, the women portrayed are given a voice, allowing them to tell their own stories. ⁠
⁠
Meanwhile, at Mercatorplein, Egyptian-French photographer Yomna El Beyaly () unveils her series In Her Own Way / شوية وراجعة. In her work, she explores identity, femininity, and the ways in which women see, experience, and define themselves in her home country, Egypt. ⁠

Studio Visit offers a look at the artistic practices, workspaces, and latest projects of contemporary photographers. For this collaboration with Foam curators take a closer look at the practices of five 2026 Foam Talents.⁠

Nazanin Hafez is a visual artist based between Iran and Germany. In her artistic practice, she critically engages with social and political injustices, particularly the impacts of the repressive regime in Iran, reflecting a deep sensitivity to power structures, mechanisms of control and censorship, as well as the subtle forms of violence embedded in everyday life.⁠
⁠
Her project Spectators is a collage-work created of existing online images of public executions in Iran.⁠
⁠

What does strength look like? ⁠

In Not What You Saw, the London-based artist Keerthana Kunnath documents female bodybuilders in Kerela, Southern India. ⁠
⁠
Her photographs exude both strength and softness, inviting us to question preconceptions of what femininity should look like and how much space women should take up. ⁠
⁠
Determined to build visibility and respect for these women, she documents not only their flexed muscles, but also their friends and families, their homes before and after the shoots, and competitions. ⁠
⁠

On World Photography Day, we take a moment to reflect on the role of photography in society. What makes an image stand the test of time?

An image rarely becomes timeless just because of what it shows. It becomes timeless because of who keeps it alive. Like an echo, a photograph needs somewhere to return to. Without that, even the strongest image can fade from view.

Looking ahead, perhaps the images that matter most aren’t the ones that simply echo. They’re the ones that come back to us changed — asking not just to be remembered, but to be seen again with new eyes.

We invited our most esteemed though makers in the photography world to share with us an image they think has or will stand the test of time, and why.

We asked people across the photography industry one question: which image do you think will stand the test of time?
