Kersgallery is pleased to present a selection of recent paintings by Tosja van Lieshout.

Moving between abstraction and imagined landscapes, Van Lieshout builds dreamlike worlds through layers of oil, gouache, acrylic and ink. Colour, nature and fragments of recognisable forms appear and disappear, creating paintings that feel both intimate and otherworldly.

🌸 NEW NATURE 🌸

Last Friday, 5 June, we opened New Nature at Kersgallery.

Bringing together works by Tosja van Lieshout, Eelke Renschke Bekkenutte, Kyra Nyskens, and Hendriekje van Houweninge, the exhibition explores evolving ideas of nature, transformation, and materiality. Through sculpture, installation, and innovative use of materials, the artists present a vision of nature that is fluid, imagined, and continuously reshaped by human intervention and technological change.

NEW AT KERSGALLERY
Kyra Nijskens (Ulestraten, 1997)
KERSGALLERY is pleased to present new works by Kyra Nijskens as part of NEW NATURE, opening 5 June.
Nijskens explores the hidden entanglement between marine ecosystems and industrial infrastructure. Inspired by biofouling—the accumulation of sea organisms on ship hulls and underwater pipelines—her sculptural works reveal how global shipping unintentionally transports life across oceans, reshaping fragile ecological systems.
Using fiberglass, epoxy, found industrial materials, collected shells and painterly interventions, Nijskens creates speculative hybrid environments where nature infiltrates and transforms human-made structures.
Her work is both poetic and unsettling: a reflection on migration, contamination, adaptation, and the ecological afterlife of global trade.
